This is a hands-on and engaging approach to sight word mastery! With student-run folders and differentiated word lists, kiddies quickly master the most frequently used words in the English language.

This product can be implemented in any grade working with sight words! There are no limitations! I have written a blog post with pictures and details if you’d like to see more about this product. You can find that post HERE

You can use this whole group, small group, for intervention, RTI, extra help, fast finishers, special education students, and more

According to Teach Hub, “Studies show that students learn best when learning is active, when they are engaged in hands-on classroom games and activities, and involved in what they are learning. Scientists believe that when children use all of their senses it helps the brain create pathways that make it easier and quicker to retain information.”

How do the folders work?
*Teachers assess students on their sight words
*Teachers create individual sight word lists for their students, based on the words they need to practice (you only need to do this once for the whole year)
*Students have sight word folders that include their word list, a list of activities, and a “workbook”
*Students make flashcards for a given amount of words (worksheets are made for 3 or 5 word practice sessions)
*Students roll a die to determine which engaging activity they will complete
*Students work independently with their words on their given task
*Teacher re-assess students and check for mastery periodically

Included in this pack:
*Step by step directions (with pictures) for setting up sight word folders
*Step by step directions for establishing routines with sight word folders
*Directions for creating individual sight word lists
*Editable sight word list (Microsoft Word format)
*”Let’s Roll” activity list
*Editable “Let’s Roll” activity list (Powerpoint format)

Since the “Let’s Roll” activity sheet is editable, you can swap out activities at any given time and customize it to meet your needs

If you choose to use the pre-made “Let’s Roll” sheet, you will need certain supplies. You will need sand (Amazon or Michaels craft store sells this), pencil cases, play dough, dice, stamps, ink pads, markers.

This does take some prep work on the end of the teacher. You will have to assess each student and type up their individual sight word lists. You will also have to gather the supplies and find a way to organize them. Keep in mind, this is a one and done prep situation. Once you type up these lists and organize supplies you won’t have to do it again for the rest of the year.

This pack has limited worksheets (because it is a hands-on approach to learning) and has more directions and examples of how to run these centers. You can use this product ALL YEAR long!
